• ini_set('memory_limit', '-1'); this will override the default PHP memory limit.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded during installation of Joomla, Drupal or any other PHP-based CMS.

The default maximum execution time of each script (in seconds) are normally set around 30 in WAMPServer (WAMP) or XAMPP (thus the error). As such this may not be enough (enough time to load the installation in your web browser).

Set the execution time higher, change it from say 30 to 100 or as needed. This is done in your PHP.ini file, for example in WAMP Server, as follows:

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; Resource Limits ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
max_execution_time = 30     ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds

Or, if you're having a hard time to find the php.ini file, do a search of your wamp or xampp folder, dummy.... or go to the your AMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP) control dashboard
